Noah's Departure from the Ark and the Covenant
In Genesis we read:
(Gen 8:13) In the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked out, and the earth was dry—
(Gen 8:14) In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
(Gen 8:15) And God spoke to Noah, saying:
(Gen 8:16) Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and the wives of your sons with you.
(Gen 8:17) Let all the animals that are with you go out with you, of all flesh: the birds and the cattle and all the animals that creep on the earth, that they may swarm on the earth and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.
(Gen 8:18) Then Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and the wives of his sons with him.
(Gen 8:19) All the animals, everything that creeps, and all the birds, everything that moves on the earth, according to their kinds, went out of the ark.
(Gen 8:14) In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
(Gen 8:15) And God spoke to Noah, saying:
(Gen 8:16) Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and the wives of your sons with you.

(Gen 8:19) All the animals, everything that creeps, and all the birds, everything that moves on the earth, according to their kinds, went out of the ark.
(This certainly could not all happen in one day)
(Gen 8:20) And Noah built an altar to the LORD and took of every clean animal and every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
(Gen 8:21) And the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, and the LORD said in his heart: I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth. And I will never again strike down every living creature as I have done.
(Gen 8:22) From now on, all the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease.
(Gen 9:11) And I establish my covenant with you, that all flesh shall never again be cut off by the waters of the flood, and that there shall be no more flood to destroy the earth.
(Gen 9:12) And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for eternal generations:
(Gen 9:13) My bow I set in the clouds; it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
(Gen 9:14) When I bring clouds over the earth and this bow appears in the clouds,
(Gen 9:15) Then I will remember my covenant which exists between Me and you and all the living creatures, in all flesh. And the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
(Gen 9:16) When the bow stands in the clouds, I will look at it to remember the eternal covenant between God and all the living creatures in all flesh that is on the earth.
(Gen 9:17) And God said to Noah: This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.

The Account in Jubilees Chapter 6
(Jub 6:1) And on the new month of the third month he went forth from the ark, and built an altar on that mountain.
(Jub 6:2) And he made atonement for the earth...
(Jub 6:2) And he made atonement for the earth...
(Jub 6:15) And He gave to Noah and his sons a sign that there should not again be a flood on the earth.
(Jub 6:16) He set His bow in the cloud for a sign of the eternal covenant that there should not again be a flood on the earth to destroy it all the days of the earth.
(Jub 6:17) For this reason it is ordained and written on the heavenly tablets, that they should celebrate the "Feast of Weeks" in this month once a year, to renew the covenant every year.
(Jub 6:18) And this whole festival was celebrated in heaven from the day of creation till the days of Noah -twenty six jubilees and five weeks of years [1309-1659 A.M.]: and Noah and his sons observed it for seven jubilees and one week of years (350 years), till the day of Noah's death, and from the day of Noah's death his sons did away with it until the days of Abraham, and they eat blood.
(Jub 6:19) But Abraham observed it, and Yitschaq and Yacob and his children observed it up to your days, and in your days the children of Yisrael forgot it until you celebrated it anew on this mountain.
(Jub 6:20) And do you command the children of Yisrael to observe this festival in all their generations for a commandment unto them: one day in the year in this month they shall celebrate the festival.
(Jub 6:21) For it is the "Feast of Weeks" and the "Feast of First Fruits:" this feast is twofold and of a double nature: according to what is written and engraved concerning it, celebrate it.
(Jub 6:22) For I have written in the book of the first Torah, in that which I have written for you, that you should celebrate it in its season, one day in the year, and I explained to you its sacrifices that the children of Yisrael should remember and should celebrate it throughout their generations in this month, one day in every year.

The Covenant with Abraham
Read Genesis 17:
(Gen 17:1) When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him: I am God Almighty; walk before me, and you shall be upright.
(Gen 17:2) And I will make my covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.
(Gen 17:3) Then Abram fell on his face, and God spoke with him and said:
(Gen 17:4) As for Me, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations.
(Gen 17:5) Therefore they shall no longer call you Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I make you a father of a multitude of nations.
(Gen 17:6) And I will make you exceedingly fruitful: I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you.
(Gen 17:7) And I will establish my covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations as an eternal covenant, to be a God to you and to your descendants after you.
(Gen 17:8) And I will give to you and your descendants after you the land of your sojourning, the whole land of Canaan, as an eternal possession; and I will be their God.
(Gen 17:9) Furthermore God said to Abraham: But you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation.
(Gen 17:10) This is my covenant which you must keep between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you must be circumcised—

(Gen 17:10) This is my covenant which you must keep between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you must be circumcised—
(Circumcision is the sign of the covenant)
(Gen 17:19) Then God answered: Truly, your wife Sarah shall bear you a son, and you must name him Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him as an eternal covenant for his descendants after him.
The Account in Jubilees Chapter 15
YAHWEH appeared to Abram at the feast of the firstfruits
(Jub 15:1) And in the fifth year of the fourth week of this jubilee, [1979 A.M.] in the third month, in the middle of the month, Abram celebrated the feast of the first-fruits of the grain harvest.
(Jubilees 6:19 referred to this)
(Jub 15:2) And he offered new offerings on the altar, the first-fruits of the produce, unto YAHWEH, an heifer and a goat and a sheep on the altar as a burnt sacrifice unto YAHWEH; their fruit offerings and their drink offerings he offered upon the altar with frankincense.
(Jub 15:3) And YAHWEH appeared to Abram, and said to him:
(Jub 15:4) 'I am YAHWEH Almighty; approve yourself before me and be you perfect. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.'
(Jub 15:5) And Abram fell on his face, and YAHWEH talked with him, and said:
(Jub 15:6) 'Behold my ordinance is with you, And you shall be the father of many nations.
(Jub 15:7) Neither shall your name any more be called Abram, But your name from henceforth, even forever, shall be Abraham.
(Jub 15:8) For the father of many nations have I made you. And I will make you very great, And I will make you into nations, And kings shall come forth from you.
(Jub 15:9) And I shall establish My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you, throughout their generations, for an eternal covenant, so that I may be a Sovereign Ruler to you, and to your seed after you.
(Jub 15:10) And the land where you have been a sojourner, the land of Canaan, that you may possess it forever, and I will be their Sovereign Ruler.'
(Jub 15:11) And YAHWEH said to Abraham: 'And as for you, do you keep my covenant, you and your seed after you: and circumcise you every male among you, and circumcise your foreskins, and it shall be a token of an eternal covenant between Me and you.
The Birth of Isaac - Jubilees Chapter 16
(Jub 16:12) And in the middle of the sixth month YAHWEH visited Sarah and did unto her as He had spoken and she conceived.
(Jub 16:13) And she bare a son in the third month, and in the middle of the month, at the time of which YAHWEH had spoken to Abraham, on the festival of the first fruits of the harvest, Yitschaq was born.
(Jub 16:14) And Abraham circumcised his son on the eighth day: he was the first that was circumcised according to the covenant which is ordained forever.
(Isaac's birth is on the 15th day of the 3rd Month)
Summary: Two Covenants in the Third Month
There were thus two covenants made in the third month:
- With Noah and the rainbow as sign, and
- With Abraham and circumcision as sign.
Furthermore, Isaac was born in the middle of the third month from the promise to Abram and Sarah (Abraham and Sarai).
The Profound Significance:
The Feast of Weeks and the Feast of the Firstfruits thus have many deep meanings, all converging on the 15th day of the 3rd month—a day of covenant renewal, divine promises fulfilled, and eternal remembrance.
