1.1 What is the original calendar of our Creator (Yahweh)?

Original calendar of our Creator

Within the Qumran documents (Dead Sea Scrolls), the Zadok Calendar (Qumran Calendar)  was found.  The Zadokite priesthood (Sadducees) was singled out by Ezekiel as the only priests that was not guilty of straying.

This calendar may open up a key to understanding more about the "when" of significant moments in the biblical history.

(Eze 44:15) But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary
when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me,
and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD:

After the return from Babylon and the rebuilding of temple, they retained the priestly duties in the temple until around 171 BC when it was transferred over to Menelaus by Antiochus IV.  The Qumran community remained loyal to the Zadok priesthood and was looking forward to the reinstatement of the order.

In the excavations at Qumran, copies where found that proves the existance of the Zadok Calendar and the following information also emerged from the excavations.
Our Creator’s creation week is sublime.

  • Day 1: Dividing of light and darkness.  Perhaps the creation of the concept of the equal dividing of light and darkness.  The reason that the calendar turns on the “equinox”.
  • Day 2: Creation of the heavens
  • Day 3: Creation of the earth
  • Day 4: Creation of “time” (Placement of the sun and moon – the first month of the first year)
  • Day 5: Creation of the sea creatures and birds
  • Day 6:
    • Creation of the land animals and creatures
    • Creation of Adam and Eve (human)
    • Creation of the Garden of Eden
  • Day 7: Creation of the Sabbath

Abib 1 or New Year’s Day must therefore always be on the fourth day of the week.
The Seasons or renewal of every season (13-week cycle) must also start on the fourth day of the week.

The SIGN of the vernal equinox

(Gen 1:14) And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

אֹות

The word “sign” (sign or signal) is the word ’owth in Hebrew (H226)
Root word: ‘uwth (H225) which means “to come”, “to consent, agree”.
The vernal equinox requires the stars, sun and the moon working together to produce equal  day and equal night.

  • Stars: A complete 360-degree cycle
  • Sun: Rises in nearly the same place in the constellations as it did a year earlier.
  • Moon: Pauses to set in the same gate as the sun 2 x per year.

This is what the Scriptures call a “sign, signal, an agreement or consent” to indicate that the next new year (Abib 1) may begin after the 364-day cycle of the current year is completed.
